Call a Spade a Spade
Please watch the above video in its entirety before reading the post below.
Tony Miano of Cross Encounters just released this video days ago and I would like to share my thoughts on it. Tony makes many good points in this video and I would like to examine the underlying tenants to why I believe he said the things he said.
Since Roe vs Wade in 1973 over 54 million babies have ripped from mothers wombs. 3500 babies every day. One every 22 seconds. I think it is obvious that the Pro-life movement as it stands today has failed miserably. I don't mean to knock all the well meaning folks that have a genuine care for the unborn and have labored in the Pro-life arena. But it is apparent that our approach MUST change. The problem is multi faceted. Today we live in an age of "tolerance", relativism, and political correctness. The most offensive thing you can do in this age is proclaim something is absolutely wrong. The most offensive thing we can do is call a spade a spade. This is not surprising in the secular world, but sadly this kind of reasoning has crept its way into the American church.
Its not only the world that says you shouldn't call abortion murder, but many professing Christians. As Tony expresses in the above video most Christians have no issue calling a person who forces sex on a woman a rapist. They have no problem calling someone who abuses a child sexually a pedophile. They have no problem calling someone who is unfaithful to their spouse an adulter. But when it comes to abortion being called murder, they say "whoa, hold on a minute, that's not right." The whole crux of the issue of abortion is "what is it growing inside the woman's womb?", "When does life begin?" Any bible believing Christian knows that life begins at conception. They know that God Himself knit that child together in the mothers womb (Psalm 139:13).
Sadly the church has even referred to the child as an zygote, an embryo, a fetus, somehow trying to make them less than human. Even medical science confirms that life begins at conception. So being a human baby in the womb lets think about what we should rightly call the premeditated termination of that life. The only honest answer is murder. The legality of that act does not change what it does to an innocent human life. Wake up Church! Call a spade a spade. Abortion is murder, no apologies. Our society has successfully aided in the silencing of peoples conscience. We know its wrong, so we try to quiet our God given conscience. The American church has given into this suppression of the truth and it must stop now!
I applaud Tony's boldness in calling abortion what it is....murder. But hopefully you viewed the entire video because the whole point, hence the title, is that even murders can find forgiveness through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Murder is not an unforgivable sin. Christ's sacrifice was sufficient and effectual for ALL sins. But it is only for those that earnestly repent of their sin and by faith and faith alone receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
And that is what this abolishment of abortion movement is about. We must stop coddling people and helping them quiet their conscience more and more. As Christians we must not be conformed to this world (Romans 12:2). Obviously this view is not going to make us popular, but we must put ourselves aside and speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15). And the truth is found in scripture. God hates the hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:16-17). Abortion is murder of a beautiful child created in the image of God and He says thou shall not murder (Exodus 20:13).
And just like when American heard of the killing of millions of Jews in the Nazi Germany it did not motivate them to do something until the saw images and actually visited the death chambers. So I challenge you to also watch the video below. After viewing this if you still believe that abortion is not murder and should still be a choice then please visit your closest mortician because you are dead inside.
